Show Notes

The ecosystems of islands, whether biological or economical, allow for unprecedented experimentation, supported by their natural isolation.

I’m in Malta, where Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain technologies are being actively supported by the local regulator, giving a clear platform, and sandboxes to try to see what works.

Malta has a history of resilience, a small nation state in the middle of the Mediterranean that has been able to maintain its independence for a thousand years.

The dynamics of how innovation can take place, and support the design of future improvements in the economy and the outlook of its stakeholders, can provide useful lessons to be applied elsewhere.
